How Has COVID-19 Changed Your Appointment?Baptist Eye Surgeons has always held our patients’ safety as our top priority. Since 1987, we’ve been providing the best eye care in the East Tennessee region and plan on continuing to do so as long as we’re here. To show how we’re handling coronavirus, we want to share:

  • What we’ve always done and will continue to do
  • What we’re doing differently
  • What you can do when you visit one of our locations

We know that Coronavirus has caused a lot of fear and panic for many people. You can rest assured that Baptist Eye Surgeons are taking every precaution when it comes to the safety of our patients and staff.

What We’ve Always Done and Will Continue to Do

Sanitation and cleanliness have been of the utmost importance for us since the very beginning. We have always made sure to sanitize all treatment surfaces in between patients using a surgical-strength cleanser. Our surgeons also sanitize their hands between patients in order to prevent germs from spreading from person to person.

Another important policy has been to ask employees who feel sick or have a fever to stay home. We care for the safety and health of our staff as much as we do for our patients. A safe medical environment means that everyone is in their best health.

Baptist Eye Surgeons has always believed in open communication with our patients. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We’re not only committed to your safety. We’re committed to your peace of mind, as well.

What We’re Doing Differently

While we’ve always maintained as clean an environment as possible, Coronavirus has required us to add new protocols in order to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We now clean high-touch surfaces throughout the day, such as pens, doorknobs, computers, and countertops.

We have also added new intake procedures for patients. When you come to a Baptist Eye Surgeons location, you will be escorted directly to your exam room once you’ve checked in. Patients will also be required to wear a mask during testing for their own safety as well as the safety of our staff. Masks are being provided to our staff to be worn in all areas of our clinics and physical distancing is encouraged whenever possible.

What You Can Do When You Visit One of Our Locations

We highly encourage our patients to take every precaution possible when visiting one of our locations. You can start by using hand sanitizer when signing in, as well as having anyone with you who doesn’t have an appointment wait in the car. Like our staff, patients are also required to now wear a mask when inside our facility.

Those with flu-like symptoms, such as cough or fever, should cancel their appointments and contact their primary care physician. HIPAA-compliant telemedicine appointments are available if you are concerned about coming to your appointment for any reason.

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. You can rest assured that Baptist Eye Surgeons is doing everything possible to ensure your safety during your visit.
